Ozai is so pathetic, like that “take his bending away haha he’s harmless now” trick would never have worked on Zuko, if you took his bending away he’d just grab his swords and come at you twice as hard, Azula doesn’t have swords or anything but she’s pretty good at hand to hand and amazing at talking her way out of problems, Iroh bust himself out of prison with no bending at all, meanwhile Ozai? Gets his bending taken away and then just collapses, doesn’t even try anymore, then just sits in prison and tries to get into Zuko’s head some more, he could have trained up and tried to break out too! But no! Bet he can’t break steel bars with his bare hands. Bet he can’t kick a steel lever in two. Bet he can’t even do a flip.

Also we never really see him do any really impressive firebending apart from when he has magic comet power, I guesss he shoots some lightning at Zuko, but that’s it and Azula is still better at the lightning thing. Azula has blue flames. Zuko can do firebreakdancing and bend with his swords. Does Ozai, who is not 14 years old, have blue flames? No he doesn’t.

He didn’t even do his coup himself, Ursa had to kill Azulon for him! Could have just challenged Iroh to an Agni Kai for the throne but he didn’t bc he knew he’d lose.

And then he only ruled for like 6 years! He lost a war that had been going on for 100 years bc of a bunch of kids.

Loserlord indeed

I thought you might appreciate that my friend showed me fate zero and I was so upset by the end that they were like "hey! You know what might cheer you up? There's this show with lesbian magical girls and it's really bright and fun, let's watch" and then showed me PMMM

no tv show will ever be able to resolve a m/m/f love triangle as perfectly and as weirdly as Hannibal, in which the woman kisses one of the guys, sleeps with the other one, then decides "actually, never mind, you're both awful!" and marries a rich lesbian instead - and, while this is all going on, the guys develop a weird homoerotic obsession with each other culminating in them going off a cliff together. truly unhinged and unmatched

@is-this-yuri is this why Miyazawa said Hannibal is yuri

is-this-yuri

A story involving a woman discovering her distaste for men and deciding to be with a woman instead is a pretty straightforward example of yuri. While male characters aren't always involved, it is pretty common to see that element of discovery in many yuri stories. It's something unique to gay romance in particular; most people assume they're straight until they realize otherwise, and this process can be explored in a romantic context given the inherent connection between romance and sexuality.

That said, I want to take a look at the men in this example. They develop an obsession for each other, which is a very strong form of love. Perhaps their relationship isn't healthy, or doesn't have strong foundations. Yet they would do anything together, maybe even including dying together. They are inseparable. Just from this summary I can sense there are intense emotions happening in this story.

Codependency is a major theme in Miyazawa's series Otherside Picnic. If I were to guess, he looked at the intense, unhealthy bond between these men and was inspired by it. Take any relationship dynamic, turn the men into women, and the story becomes yuri.

Conclusion: Hannibal is yuri.
